  1. @Dantan are you still looking to sell this?
  2. I've seen the use of some kind of jig to stamp letters straight, but what do you think this attached picture is? It looks like it takes individual type pieces and stamps it somehow. Any ever seen this and know how it works?
  3. Would like to buy #3. Let me know if you still have it. Thanks
  4. Thanks for your reply! They're really small--less than an inch wide. A lot of long and short and irregular strips. I was thinking there might be a factory that would grind them up and use them for bonded leather or the like? I'm not sure most of my scrap pieces would be of good use for crafts, but maybe! I could always post them on craigslist/facebook and see!
  5. I have a ton of very small leather scraps that can't really be used for anything. Is there such thing as a leather recycling center? It feels like such a waste to just throw it all away!
  6. Is your clicker press still available? I'm interested, and sent you an e-mail.
  7. Thanks, Art! I've been thinking about getting the Cobra AK-20. However, everyone online that I see says it has a 14" cutting width--it is really 20"?
  8. Thanks, Thor! I've started exploring these options, so hopefully I can find one soon.
  9. Thor, I'm cutting down sides into straps from 1/2" to 8-9" in width. chrstn53, thanks! How do you find out about leather tool/equipment auctions?
  10. I'm considering a strap cutter machine, but wanted to get opinions about the various machines out there. Here are the following machines I'm looking at: Weaver hand operated ($1900, 8" cutting capacity): http://www.weaverleathersupply.com/Catalog/ItemContent.aspx?ItemNumber=25364 Cobra AK-20 ($1995, 14" cutting capacity): http://www.leathermachineco.com/product/cobra-ak-20-leather-strap-cutting-machine/ Artisan AK-22 ($1890, 14" cutting capacity): http://www.artisansew.com/leathercuttingmachinesandclickers.html# Techsew 2020 ($1995, 20" cutting capacity): http://shop.raphaelsewing.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=731 Morpan ($2000 rebuilt, 12" cutting capacity): http://landisusa.com/us-en/starp-cutter-morpan.html I'm also curious on why all the pricing is almost identical when some have different cutting capacities, some come on a table, one is hand operated... Any and all information would be great!

  12. If you have the die, I could do the hot stamping for you for very cheap. I'll send you a message to see if you're still working on your project.
