keyhole(?) Punch

Is the standard keyhole (button hole) punch the correct hole size for a guitar strap?

They are called Pippin Punches, and they generally come in two sizes (the holes part, not the length.

If you find one about an inch long that will do fine for straps, but your rotary punch and knife work just fine too.
