Reanne Report post Posted August 2, 2015 Hi, I read an old thread on here a while back, where some people had posted that they'd changed the regular wheel on a motorised Singer 99 to a spoked balance wheel, and kept it motorised. I'd like to do the same with my machine. I only use garment weight leather to make handbags, and this machine has worked perfectly well, but when I'm going through a few layers, I often turn the wheel by hand, and I've gotten sore finger tips after a while! I've purchased a spoked wheel that fits, but it will need a new belt, as the one on it is now the wrong size. I'm 1. unsure how to figure out the size of belt needed, and 2. not sure how it's actually going to work... I can't find anything else on the net about changing to a spoked wheel and keeping the motor... Did I misunderstand what was being said in that previous thread?
