  1. Do you think a Singer 201-2 would sew 7-8oz leather with say #69 or #92 thread?
  2. Im thinking about a Yamata FY5318 for holster making. Does anybody know if #277 thread will fit the machine? Does anybody have any reviews (good or bad) of this machine for my intended use?
  3. What size drill bits are you guys using for your #277 thread? Also what size needle are you using when using drilled holes for your stiching layout?
  4. Those of you that use a hydrolic press to mold their leather. What hardness rubber are you using? I thought I read somewhere that it should be around 60 -70 on the hardness scale.
  5. Does anybody know where I can find a alligator pattern that I can press onto my leather?
  6. Thanks for the quick come back. One more question if I may. Will the gummed back leather adhere with adhesive when making a pancake holster?
  7. What is gummed back leather and can it be used for holster making?
  8. That looks like an accident wanting to happen. The creases in the leather at the trigger guard look fishy to me and the fact that it was supposedly documented just after it happened. If an AD ever happened to me (God forebid) my 1st thought would not be taking pictures of it. I think this was staged for an article. I think the author had writers block and got a Glock.
  9. Your work is what I strive my work to look like. Very nice indeed. Congradulations on the new addition to the family.
  10. How many stitches per inch and what size thread did you use? The boning looks very nice.
  11. What thread size and type are you guys using for your holsters when using 7-8oz and 8-9oz leather? I am very new to this and am trying to learn everything I can. I like 6-7 stitches an inch if that makes a difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
