Angelus Leather Dyes/acrylic Paints Vs. Fiebing's Leather Dyes/acrylic Paints

Recommended Posts

I currently use Angelus Dyes and Paints and sealed with 50/50. I still get some occasional peeling of the paint at times but for the most part, it holds up well. I've been eyeballing Fiebing's products here lately and I am trying to figure out if I want to start using Fiebing's, but I would like to here a response on what you all recommend or like better? My products are for the Fire Service so they encounter a significant beating. Like I said, all is holding up well for the most part and I really don't have many complaints about Angelus.

angelus paints w/ duller or water works better than fiebings. Haven't used either but all sneaker customizers use angelus and they never crack. You may have to thin it 30 percent with duller so that the coat isn't so heavy - 1 light coat (don't worry if it looks uneven it will even out on the 2nd and 3rd coat), let dry, another light coat, let dry, final coat. Angelus paint dont need to be sealed, but for extreme conditions it can add extra protection.

Angelus dye vs fiebings dye - with angelus it comes ready to use out the bottle, fiebings you have to thin w/ denatured alcohol with fiebings you get double the product, its a concentrate.
