Artist Needed

Recommended Posts

I am not an artist... I cannot create something that on paper (or leather) that is in my mind....

I have a wallet I need to do, I was asked to do something for fishing on it. I have a stencil from the Tandy Wildlife pack, but it is too small, about an inch and a half square. The fish, think it is a bass, would be great, if I had it larger, but I have no way to make the stencil larger. So I am looking for someone to either make it larger for me..... Or to draw out something for me that would work.

If you can draw something out for me, please keep in mind, I am not a pro at carving, so please keep it simple... LOL

The area I have to work with is 2 7/8 inch by 8 7/8 inch as a whole.... kind of thinking of a fisher (the wallet if for a woman who loves to fish) person catching a fish.... the fisher person would be one one side of the wallet and the jumping fish on the other, allowing room for a 1 inch letter on both sides of the wallet.... or, the same thing, jumping fish or something like that on both sides (would love two different types of larger fish) one on each side of the wallet with the initial under the fish, or above depending on how it is jumping (will include a pic of a sheath I did that the idea actually came from) going in an area of 2 7/8 by 4 inch for each side.

I imagine that this would be simple for someone who knows how to draw.... but... I have been known to be wrong in the past....

Anyway, any help would be great.

Mike

I just tested this on my copier. You can copy a Craftaid, ink it in, then blow it up on the copier to make it fit. Same with the stencil -- trace it, then blow it up on a copier. You can do the same thing in photo editing software, if you have any.

Tasha,

I do not have access to a copier or printer.

Anything I get, I have to email to my wife for her to print out at work and bring home to me, and if it doesnt print out the correct size.... then I am in trouble....

LOL

There's a Kinko's at Brainerd Road in Chattanooga: http://tinyurl.com/6bptrh

My copier is part of my all-in-one system -- got it on sale for $100 at Staples, and since I use it for business it's deductible. If you don't need or want wireless printing capability, they're cheaper still. It's not something I would use regularly for photocopying, as it's cheaper for me to go to my local Kinko's or Staples to get class handouts copied than to print them here (also, 15 copies of a ten-page handout would take FOREVER to print!), but it's nice to have the option.

You know, Tandy has some nice 3D fish stamps. Just a thought: put one on with some nice decorative stamps/basketweave.

Hey Wolvenstien! I just noticed something! You're from my neck of the woods! I lived there in Hixson for 14 years as a kid... Had a boat in Soddy Daisey at Pine Harbour Boat Docks! ... Not that it means anything, I just saw the map pointing to Kinkos and said to myself, "HEY! I know that place..." Very cool indeed!

I need to get back there someday! I haven't been there since 1979....

Thats too funny.

I actually am not in Chattanooga, I am just over the state line near Lake Winnie, but I can spit into Tennessee from my back door.

Guess I am not up on things, what does Tashabear mean by INK IT IN, I was taught to get a craftaid pattern, by laying paper on craftaid (bumpy side) then rub the whole thing lightly with a pencil, trace that for darker lines, then you can reduce/enlarge with printer.

Please enlighten me, I feel kinda dumb now.
