  1. Cool. I was going to buy one and modify it to be used for a sole press but have not yet done it.
  2. I am a fairly new cobbler (5 years experience) but I have never been shown how to resole a pair of booots using the peg technique. Now i have my own shop and would like to offer this service. Any advice?
  3. What do you mainly use this press for?
  4. Thanks for the responses everyone. I had a local machinist make the part for me. Works great!
  5. Thanks Constabulary. It is one of the link arms that pulls the clutch pads together to engage the motor with the sewing mechanisms.
  6. I bought an old Landis 36 McKay and it is decent shape, aside from the shuttle mechanism which I was able to replace. Unfortuantely it was missing one Friction Disk Shifter Link. Part # 36-12-22. I have tried calling Landis and a few other machinery companies with no luck. Anyone got any leads? The assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Shop Press

@chrstn53 Heck yeah! That sounds pretty reliable. How of a drop do you get out of the shaft? 6" or so? less? Just curious because I want to mount a high density foam brick to a plate and attach it to the shaft to be used as a shoe sole press in a shoe repair shop. I am going to mount a cobbler's anvil under the shaft but I would probably need about 4-6" of clearance (at least) when the press is off the anvil.

    Shop Press

I have actually been thinking about using this shop press as a sole press in a shoe repair shop. How much drop did you get out of the press shaft?
  9. Hey everybody. I am looking to purchase a 5 in 1 cutting machine or something along the lines. I live in Maine and would travel anywhere inside New England to pick up but would also pay shipping to any willing parties. I am also looking for a sole press of any short, hand crank, lever, pneumatic. Considered making one but thoiught I'd try here first. Thanks

Did it not work for you as a clicker-like tool?
  11. Hello, I am interested in the 5 in 1 if it is in good working condition. Could you send some pictures if you still have it?
  12. Looks like a Landis one to me! Nice find, seems to be in half way decent shape too. Good Luck
