    Thank you all for your kind words and thanks for checking them out! I don't line them because it seems like the rivets and spots are all set fairly flush. Perhaps on a husky like dog a couple of hairs MIGHT get between them every so often? But not really? I figure if I can rub the back against the soft skin on my hand then they're sitting flush enough? But love to hear thoughts and suggestions so keep em coming!

    Thank you Rohn, I hope so too. Not sure if there're any changes I should make or I've heard people talk about putting Resolene on their leather to help protect it more. Am hoping someone will know on here about that?

    KIN COLLARS https://www.etsy.com/shop/KinCollars I have recently (over the last two months or so) started making dog collars. I don't have a sewing machine for sewing the edges but I think they're okay without the stitch? What do you think? Would love any feedback and for you all to have a look at my new etsy page.     I'm jumping in on this with my own question - are the numbers for bevelers the same all around? For example, the one I'm using now is the #2 keen edge beveler from Tandy (http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/400514234330?lpid=82) I'm looking to buy the same tool but that is much better quality. Would a #2 Gomph round bottom beveler be the equivalent or are they different? I'm using it to round the edges on dog collars : https://www.etsy.com/shop/KinCollars Any help would be great!

    Hi everyone! Thanks for all the helpful information. Have read through but still need some advice. I make dog collars and currently for burnishing edges I use one of the nylon circles from tandy but my hands are starting to hurt! I don't know anything about power tools so would love some advice on which one to get for the best price. I think I'll purchase one of the Cocobolo tools (http://leatherburnishers.com/Burnishers_for_Drills.html) but I have two major questions. 1.) How do I know which one/ones to get? (The leather I use is 8oz so doubled over at the buckle point would be 16oz) 2.) What tool do I get to attach it to? I don't have a bench I can drill in to, so a drill press is out for now (later that will change). So either a lathe, or a handheld drill? Will a handheld drill be too difficult to work with for smoothing edges? I'm not the strongest person so am weary that my hands and wrists will get sore still! Any help would be fantastic on this. Thanks in advance all!

    Thank you, now a couple more questions if you wouldn't mind. With the mode lodge, does it flake or split apart if the item used is bent around a lot? I'm making dog collars and i wouldn't want the mode lodge to visually crack if that makes sense? Also, I asked this on the forum but haven't found an answer yet...is this Austin Double Shoulder leather okay for something like dog collars? I wanted latigo but they only had 10-12 oz (too thick) and they suggested this. I'm not sure if they were just trying to make a sale or if it's actually alright? Durability, won't stretch, weather proof etc...do you know? I REALLY appreciate your help!
