GRUMPY ALWAYS Report post Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) MY NAME IS BEN AND LIVE OUTSIDE OF CHATTANOOGA. I AM A NEWBIE TO THE UPHOLSTERY TRADE. I WORKED AT AN UPHOLSTERY SHOP AND WE DID ALOT OF OLD TIN FROM 1929-70. I HAVE SINCED BRANCHED OUT ONE MY OWN FOR THE HOBBIE PERPOSES. I HAVE A 31 BROOKVILLE ROADSTER AND WILL BE DOING THAT. I THOUGHT I WOULD JOIN HERE CAUSE I WILL BE LATER WANTING TO LEARN LEATHER. I ALSO SEEN WHERE THERES A PLACE FOR EXOTIC MATERIALS. I AM GOING TO PUT GATOR INSERTS IN THE BROOKVILLE. ALSO BEEN LERKING AWHILE BEFORE GETTING A NAME. THERE IS ALOT OF KNOWLEDGE HERE AND HAVE ENJOYED READING THE POST. I AM LOOKING AT GETING A CONSEW 206RB-5 FOR MY TRUCK. I WILL BE SEWING THE GATOR INSERTS, FOAM PLETES, AND SOME OTHER MATERIAL FOR STARTERS. AT THE OTHER SHOP WE USES A 797 8001 ATRISAN. ANYWAY THANKS FOR THE GREAT SITE. IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF A MACHINE THAT WOULD BE GOOD FOR WHAT I NEED PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I KNOW I WANT SERVO AND WILL BE SEWING 92 THREAD AND 22 NEEDLE (I THINK THIS IS WHAT WE USED). St8LineGunsmith Report post Posted April 30, 2013 Hello I am in Rossville welcome to the forum go to Tandy and look at their printed gator shoulders they look very real and would work nice for upholstery I bought some I am going to use for inlay for pocket books tablet phone and computer cases and a couple of holsters and maybe a belt or two several of us meet at Tandy on Saturdays at 10:00 AM for free leather classes They fired the old manager who was the instructor and he was great! I don't understand why they fired him he was very knowledgeable about leather and leather working...
