Recommended Posts

MY NAME IS BEN AND LIVE OUTSIDE OF CHATTANOOGA. I AM A NEWBIE TO THE UPHOLSTERY TRADE. I WORKED AT AN UPHOLSTERY SHOP AND WE DID ALOT OF OLD TIN FROM 1929-70. I HAVE SINCED BRANCHED OUT ONE MY OWN FOR THE HOBBIE PERPOSES. I HAVE A 31 BROOKVILLE ROADSTER AND WILL BE DOING THAT. I THOUGHT I WOULD JOIN HERE CAUSE I WILL BE LATER WANTING TO LEARN LEATHER. I ALSO SEEN WHERE THERES A PLACE FOR EXOTIC MATERIALS. I AM GOING TO PUT GATOR INSERTS IN THE BROOKVILLE. ALSO BEEN LERKING AWHILE BEFORE GETTING A NAME. THERE IS ALOT OF KNOWLEDGE HERE AND HAVE ENJOYED READING THE POST. I AM LOOKING AT GETING A CONSEW 206RB-5 FOR MY TRUCK. I WILL BE SEWING THE GATOR INSERTS, FOAM PLETES, AND SOME OTHER MATERIAL FOR STARTERS. AT THE OTHER SHOP WE USES A 797 8001 ATRISAN. ANYWAY THANKS FOR THE GREAT SITE. IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF A MACHINE THAT WOULD BE GOOD FOR WHAT I NEED PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I KNOW I WANT SERVO AND WILL BE SEWING 92 THREAD AND 22 NEEDLE (I THINK THIS IS WHAT WE USED).

HERE IS A PIC OF MY BROOKVILLE

Hello

I am in Rossville

welcome to the forum

go to Tandy and look at their printed gator shoulders they look very real and would work nice for upholstery I bought some I am going to use for inlay for pocket books tablet phone and computer cases and a couple of holsters and maybe a belt or two

several of us meet at Tandy on Saturdays at 10:00 AM for free leather classes

They fired the old manager who was the instructor and he was great! I don't understand why they fired him he was very knowledgeable about leather and leather working... Their loss IMO

anyway no one is sure what the new manager has in mind for the leather class

we will find out this Saturday I guess

there is a lot of good information here in the forum
