  1. Hi ian, many thanks for the info, I don't hold the threads at all , so I will try that. I did notice that my tension disc spring was bent so I have ordered a new one, only a couple of pounds. Yes, it was when I began sewing this morning, I did change the needle, but only for a new one. I will have a look for the thread you mentioned. Many thanks for your help. Say hello to San Francisco , I haven't been there for ten years! Ian.
  2. Hi all, this is the first time I've used the forum and am typing all the way from the uk. Can anyone help me? Yesterday I pulled out my 29k for the first time in about a year, oiled him up and stitched away. This morning I came to do the same and the thread tension is all wrong, I now remember it was doing this all the time and I spent more time setting the tension than sewing! I have played around with the tension put it just won't pick up the bobbin. I have ordered new tension plates and spring hoping this will do the trick, has anyone else had this problem? Thanks, ian.
