Latest Project On It's Way To Afghanistan

Just finished the project in the pic. It's now on it's way to Afghanistan to house a Smith and Wesson SWHRT7T. Apparently the guys over there love the knife but the sheath leaves much to be desired. Great Sheath! Nothing like having a $100 sheath for a $10 knife. They sell these at the PX, and the standard comment is, "great knife...worthless sheath". Whoever gets this is going to be the envy of everyone in Afghanistan!

Where do you buy your holster clips? Do they come in that color, or are you staining them yourself. When I trapped as a boy, we stained our traps (and hands) with black walnut husks.

The holster clips are standard chrome. I give them a good steel wooling and blue them myself. I kinda like the blues/marbled effect. I figure that in Afghanistan they definately dont need

anything shiny flashing on their leg! Interesting idea on the black walnut husks. May have to work with that a bit. What technique did you use?

If I remember correctly, You shuck and boil a dozen black walnt husks in couple gallons of water, let cool and soak traps . The husk will stain your hands for over a week, so remember to wear gloves.

Thanks for sharing about steel wooling the chome. I also thought it to be odd, that most holter clips, intended for concealed carry, are shiny!
