Old Sporran Making Film

Recommended Posts

Found this on another forum that I visit on occasion. The frustrating part is not seeing how he actually put the back and the front together! Pretty interesting though, from the 1950's

Would anyone know where to get one of the tools he uses to make the wavy cuts?

Cheers for posting this Wyvern, Only in the 50's would you work with glue with a suit on!!! The tool for making the wavy lines looks like a pricking iron, a heavy duty type, No.3 or 4.

If your looking for a tool to make those wavy lines do a search for a pinking iron.

Definitely a pinking iron - they come in rounds and half rounds as well as the flat edge sort.

Fascinating footage. I have an edge creaser somewhere - always did wonder how it was used!
