Not a dogwood, dogwood flowers are four petals and the petals have a single scallop in the middle.

Actually, Storm will tell you that a dogwood can have 4, 5 or 6 petals (and a bunch of other stuff I kaint pronounce :) ). He's got quite a discussion on it somewhere around here. But, in the end I'm going with this one ...

My first thought was daffodil. But that may be way off. Reason for that is the cup-like thing in the middle.

Something I don't think dogwoods resemble at all. I am sure there are other flowers built similarly.

Okay, not gonna happen. I don't have any white. Forgot, I don't use white head_hurts_kr.gif

Not a total loss, though .. in the scrounge I found enough red to do this ...

Sweet!! That is a gorgeous Hibiscus. How did you get your wood grain look on the leather?

Oh, that flower in your original post might be a Narcissus which is of the Daffodil type flowers.

Plus, your guess of white petals with a yellow inside is pretty spot on...... LoL.

Okay, somebody  know what  these flowers are?  I want  to use the natural  color, and don't know what  they  are ...

I believe they are a stylized flower that Al Stohlman came up with. Some were done prior to there being a lot of color. I did find a Pacific Dogwood in Al's 1972 book titled "Projects and Designs" (Page 46) and it too uses the stippled background as is often seen in his published patterns. Tandy still sells that book. They also have some other non-actual flower designs too. It may never have been destined to be colored but dyed.

Okay, call me crazy lazy ... I was doing some fishing scenes, and had some blue left in the jar .... pictures tomorrow when they're dry. Got a little behind tonight when my old buddy showed up with the checkbook I made him about 8 years ago. Held up pretty well for spending that long under a 300 lb guy smile.gif

Oh, yeah ... the woodgrain is one of those pull the trigger on the airbrush and close your eyes things. Taking the advice of another crafter on the site, I left the lid off the glue bottle, too.

Back to key cases , here's another pattern in case someone is looking for one. Came in some stuff off of Ebay, I bought some stuff, came with like 20 of these key case kits (what WAS I thinking, I hate these things. 3-4 were old n moldy, went in the trash - figgered I'd paint the rest ...
