Recommended Posts

I was just on the Techsew website that was advertising thread. They all say that they have size 135 but no 138 is this a misprint? and where do you guys get your thread and what is best to run through my machine in a 138 size.

135 is a Canadian/European measurement thang. It is actually size T135 which equals B138. It's like the difference between dynes per cubic kilopasqual vs. inches of Mercury, for barometric pressure.

Go though Bob at Toledo industrial. Cowboy Bob on this forum. I've bought thread from other places in the past, and you can tell when thread is old. It unravels and breaks easy etc. Bobs stock rotates itself often, so it's nice "fresh" thread.

135 and 138 are pretty much the same thing.

69=70

90=92

135=138

207=210

346=350

Go to the "Thread exchange " website and buy literally all colors in the rainbow in 138 and about any other size there....they are in North Carolina and have tons of info on their website...well prized too !!

I buy only from them and never had an quality issue so far !!

Ohhh these Canadians...hihii....

Superior threads as well, I got some really nice 277 in pink from them, $23 and shipped for $3.95 I think.

They had more colors in 138, price on the pink 277 was best I found 2-3 months ago

One more nod for the thread exchange. Lots of sizes and a wide range of colors. Shipped quick.

And, temper this with the thought that if where you bought the Cobra is treating you well, and has the thread you need, thre's something to be said for loyalty :)

We use Eddington thread with all of our machines. They are in the U.S.A. and been in business for 150 years. We have had no problems whatsoever with their thread. They are comparable to Rice thread, for those who remember Rice thread. We also recommend the Thread Exchange for different colors.Steve
