  1. I saw a tutorial on that once on the net, I'll see if I can find it again. Basically all they were doing, was pinching the leather with something that looked like a flat pliers. Cased leather might have enough stretch to it to see a similar edge. Another site I saw they used a small piece of twine under the leather to give it a "bulge". - Noel
  2. I had a chance to stop by Fox Valley Leather today, and they said they are no longer doing in house tanning. It was too problematic with OSHA issues. So they are sending out all the hides they receive to another tannery, and the hides are taking aprox 6 months before return. - Noel
  3. They do show up occasionally. Do a search on Leather Postcard on ebay and you can normally find some for sale. Not very expensive either. - Noel

    SmartFlix a scam?

There was quite a discussion on these guys on a graphics forum I'm a member of. The problem with them, is they are not paying for the rights to rent those dvds to others. They are making copies of dvds they purchase, and then "renting" those out. You'll notice in their "how it works" section they even mention they are going to send you a dvd-r. The problem with this model, is that the person who authored the videos aren't receiving any form of royalty on the products being rented. Videos rented from your local rental store are especially packaged and marketed for rental. In other words, they cost a lot more to buy, because of the renting aspect. All depends on how you feel on the issue. Personally I have a hard time supporting a website that tries to go around the authors of the videos. - Noel

  7. Not perfect, but a bit straighter - Noel
  8. That is one way to go I guess - Noel
  9. Sometimes I think people are missing the chance to make some real money in leather The type of person (normally an executive) that is willing to buy such an item, doesn't care about the price. Seriously. They're looking for the prestige. Market to that factor, and you can make some serious cash - Noel
  10. Most major craft stores carry them in the states, not sure in Canada. However if you google Cuttlebug you'll find a ton of online stores that carry the item that could probably ship to Canada. - Noel
  11. Absolutely stunning work! - Noel
  12. External hard drives are the best way to go. I have two of them on this computer Make sure it is a USB 2.0 drive (by default it probably will be) and buy as much hard drive space as you can afford. The prices have dropped fast on these drives, you'll be able to buy quite a bit for your money. I have two Seagate external drives, never had a single problem with either of them. Works fantastic. - Noel
