  1. I got the buckle from weaver, the outside is 9-10oz precut strap leather from zack white, the inside is an old piece of what I would guess to be 14-15 oz leather. I really don't know for sure because I've had it for years. Yes it's sewn smooth side out on both sides. I didn't want a liner because I wanted it to be as hard and stiff as possible. I even played around with the idea of adding a third layer. Disclaimer I did not sew it, I was having trouble getting threw the older piece of leather so I took it to a guy for stitching. I should have put that in the original post.
  2. New 4 inch weightlifting belt I made for myself. Nothing fancy. Not sure why my photo is upside down
  3. Thanks for the reply, I'm gonna give the first method a shot because I want to dye the whole thing black first. Thanks for the help!
  4. If it helps put it into perspective I just built a truck belt out of 9/10 oz leather and it was perfect for the job. It's thick enough to hold my axe and keep shape, however I think that it would be way to think for a radio strap.
  5. I do both I'm thinking either 7/8 or 8/9. I'm about to make my first radio strap but if I would have to guess the basic Boston leather one I got is in that range. What width are you going with?
  6. Can anyone tell me how they get those perfect white (or any color) outlines on stamped letters or numbers? I'm looking at making an FD radio strap and I really like the ones where the name is outlined in white and the letters are red (on a black strap) can anyone give me advice on this?
  7. Katsass are you saying 4/5 will work fine on its own or 4/5 should be laminated? Just want to clarify
  8. Thanks jack, having the brand name made the search work!
  9. Great thanks for the help guys, I will give it a try and see how she turns out.

  12. Is 4/5 oz leather too think for a holster? Its been a while since I have made a holster but I had some laying around and wanted to know if it was worth a shot or if I should go buy some thicker stuff.
