Adler 30-1 Good Deal?

Recommended Posts

I have found an Adler 30-1 locally that the guy wants $395 for. I know very little about this machine other than that it is still in production with minor modifications and parts are still available. As far asthe particular machine, it probably needs a little work because when I tried toturn it, it was very difficult to get it to cycle. it did cycle but needsoiling I'm sure. The price says firm so I'm not sure if there is any wiggleroom in the price. I am only a hobbyist for now but would like to take it tothe next level with a machine. would this serve my purposes? Or should I notwaist my time? Thank you in advance for any input.

Yes,I would say that's a good price BUT since you didn't mention what you want to sew I can't answer if this will work for ytou.Try doing a search for "shoe patcher" & that will help you.

We do carry the parts ,needles & thread for them.

Good Luck,

Bob

I am not into saddle making just the occasional holster, knife sheath, notebook cover etc. I am mainly into tooling leather but the needto sew products cannot be denied, to date it has all been hand stitched and Iam looking to save time if at all possible. I have not needed to sew more than 3 layers of7-8 oz to date andI really do not expect to. Thank you for your advice, I appreciate your help.

Scott if you are sewing 1/4" or less and it's a hobby for now, I have a 15-91 for sale in the sewing machine portion of the marketplace that would be less than that even with the shipping. I sew my backing and foam on guitar straps with it, and well anything that will fit under the foot this will sew. And it'll sew from light weight materials to denim and then leather with just a tension adjustment. If you're interested, check it out and PM me.

ok,the adler can sew alittle over 1/4" & might be a good machine to have around for certain small jobs, but it has a top foot type of feed the pulls the leather through & these feet have teeth on the bottom that can mark the leather, that's why they are called shoe patcher they were made for patching shoes were the teeth marks aren't an issue.
