  1. Hello all, I am looking to purchase a manual clicker press, and I wanted to poll the experts before I pull the trigger on one. I am between 3 right now. #1) Lucris M A series III #2) Weaver 8 ton Mighty wonder #3) Weaver's version of the Lucris I have not experiences with any of these tools, and I will need to purchase on in the next couple of weeks. Any advice, suggestions, pros and cons or general thoughts are welcomed. Thanks in advance! David-
  2. Hello all, I have been working with some very nice leathers over the years, and now I am working some exotics into my line. Does anyone have a source for high quality alligator or crocodile in the US? Looking for a variety of colors particularly browns and tans. I don't mind buying from overseas, but I would much rather buy from the US. Price is not as big a concern as the quality and colors available. I am willing to pay a little more if the product is high quality. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated! Cheers and thanks in advance, David
  3. I may be able to help you out, smaller runs will be pricy. I am 100% US. Shoot me an email: david@davidlane-design.com David-
  4. Hello All, I am looking for a used ounce/millimeter thickness gauge for measuring the thickness of leather. Please PM or reply with images if possible. Thank you and cheers, David-
  5. Mijo, I would love to see an image, that would be a big help. Thank you. David-
  6. I am looking for a high quality new or used lacing pony for hand stitching leather. I have used several, but I truly need the old school models. No screws with wing nuts, on the side to catch the thread. I really like the pieces with a slight tilt to them, and I am not scared of a 100 year old tool. Does not need to be a sit down model, but I would consider one. Thank you for all of your help, even a website or point in the right direction would be great. David-
  7. Thank you Maverick, will be calling asap. David-
  8. Hello all, I have been dealing with Horween for a few years, and I love there product, it truly is top notch. I am looking to find a source for leather that is similar to Horween (traditional pull-up leather) in the US. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great! Thank you all for your help. or If someone here is willing to split an order from Horween, I cannot get a run in a color unless it is 200+ ft. and I just cannot justify an order that big at this point. David-
  9. Spinner, That is who I am working with, if they don't have the leather in stock, I need to order 200ft. to get the color I need. In the future this may not be a problem for me, but right now it is. David-

  11. I saw this tool several years ago, and I have looked everywhere. I truly need a HIGH quality 10-30 tip thonging chisel. Here is the bad boy I have been chasing, it is the second tool from the top: ANY information would be great, and thank you in advance! DL- DL-

  13. I have been working with Barge cement for 3 years, and I am looking to find something a bit safer for my brain. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I love the properties of Barge cement, so anything similar would be great especially the fast drying quality. Thanks a bunch, David-
  14. I am a watch strap maker, and I am looking to buy a draw gauge to rough out the blank strips of leather before I make my straps. What recommendations do folks have as far as brand, material ect. I may start making belts soon, if there is a better tool for cutting strips, my ears are wide open. I'm not looking for an industrial machine, but I am open for suggestions. Links to websites and or brand names will be very helpful. Thank you much, David-
