Really? No thoughts? Anybody?

It weighs about 35lbs. Has sheep wool underpanels a rawhide wrapped tree and is probably over 25 years old. Its also a dream to ride. I would love to know more about it. . .

I've never seen one like it before, but I like it a lot!!!! That is similar to what I am building. It looks very comfortable and I'm guessing could have been built for endurance riding, but it is a bit heavy for that. I would have guessed it weighed a lot less than 35 lbs.

Are there any makers marks on it at all???

I really like it!!!

Tim

That looks like some sort of a field trail saddle to me. Generally the Troopers are the most popular, but this one has a distinct western theme so my best guess would be perhaps a custom rig made for upland birders.

Yeah, I was thinking more along the Plantation saddle lines, but I'm just not sure. We have sold plenty of used saddles over the years but never seen one like this.

Its clear to me that its a custom saddle from somewhere but what puzzles me is what custom saddler would take all the time to craft a work of art and not put their name on it somewhere? Every custom saddle (and even not custom ie Billy Cook, Circle Y etc) has makers marks. Its a well made conundrum.

Ya, know....I'm wondering if its is an old Dunn's saddle. You might try contacting the folks at Dunn's hunting supply and inquire.
