victorl Report post Posted February 9, 2016 I was browsing some Japanese TV shows and I came across a video of Japanese leather tool factory where they show how their stitching chisels are made. It's the factory that makes chisels for Seiwa and Kyoshin Elle. It was quite an eye opener as I assumed they were made by automated machines, but actually made mostly by hand, each chisel requiring a lot of work and skill to make. The machines in the factory are all taken from an old metal factory and repurposed for tool making. Quite amazing to see, really. There's a few other interesting parts, like the one on sharpening scissors. Probably safe to say they're really sharp, the guy shaves his arm with one of the blades.
