  1. Hey everyone, I am hoping that all you holster and gun leather makers can help me out. I would like to start selling holsters for black powder revolvers. I have never sold any of my leather goods before, and would like to start on a very small scale. I have looked around on some of the popular gun auction sites, and they seem as though they may meet my needs. I don't want to spend a lot of money on the websites, as I will probably only be making/selling one at a time. What do you guys think? Is there a website in particular which would be the most cost affective? We're any of you once in my shoes? What did you do? I'm not looking to make tons of money, but definitely don't want to loose money. Also, can any of you tell me what you would charge for the holster that I have Aiken a picture of? Thanks again - Jonah E.
  2. hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows where you can purchase large leathercraft stamps. Can you get them larger than the 3D stamps Tandy sells. I would be interested if some stamps which I could use with my press that could be perhaps wildlife and animal related. Any help would be much appreciated. I would like some stamps that could tide me over untill I master carving.(it isn't working out to well) Thanks in advance, - Jonah
  3. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make a strap cutter. I had one that I got from a man who bought it in the 70's and it just broke. I need one now, and don't have time to order another. I also don't have a straight edge that it long enough. Please Help Me! -Otak
  4. I was thinking maybe a single shoulder of 6-7 ounce
  5. I want to make a possibles bag for a muzzle loader that I just build. I don't have a pattern that I really like yet, and was wondering if anyone could perhaps post a pattern they used or anything related in general. Anything would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I was wondering where the cheapest place to buy veg tan tooling leather is. I am on a budget and leather is very expensive. I am not looking to get high end leather, because I am a beginner, but just want some "economy" stuff. I get most of my stuff through Tandy, but I am sure that there are companies that may sell cheaper, but are not as well known. Tandy kind of has a monopoly there.
  7. Thanks for the input. I made this sheath a back in September and have since invested in a stitching groover with an edge guide, and it does help a lot. The groove in this was cut free hand. There is a welt, and the edge is burnished. The knife also comes in and out very easily, but still fits snugly. -otak
  8. Here is a knife sheath that I made for my 8 inch survival knife. I used 6-7 oz leather and stained it with a home made english walnut leather stain that I make. I am relatively new to leather working and I want your honest opinions of my work. This is one of my first projects and I think my work has improved. Please Critique. - otak
