Easy Inexpensive Christmas Gifts

Recommended Posts

We all have people we'd like to give meaningful gifts to but can't afford to buy for everyone. Weaver leather has harness bells pretty inexpensive and a few of those, some scrap leather and about an hour of your time makes nice jingle bell door hangers.

I can tell you from experience that they are well recieved

I like that Tb!

In the spirit of easy gifts... from scraps laying around and a few beads:

Good idea! I made something similar to teach my dog to ring it when he needs to go outside.

TBoyce, how did you lace the bells in? Slots in the leather? It is a great gift idea!

There are ballots in these bells. They have holes. I used Chicago screws to put them in. You'll either need a really thin and long tweezers to grip the screw and put it through the hole or a magnetic screwdriver and the patience of Job.

Great tooling indeed; I really like that idea!

I mentioned I'm making ornaments out of leather rounds and cork coasters to give to households in my family to mark the birth of my first child. Nothing crazy, just his name in 1/4" and "1st" in a 3/4" and the year in roman numerals.

I'm drilling tiny holes in the cork to push beading wire into either side as a hanger feature. I'm hoping it's received well as I'm pretty much broke now as a new dad!
