I'm not aware of any cheap sources for "Europeen Pricking Irons". They cost what they cost and I've never seen any available for any sort of discount. I've even asked some of the guys that sell used leather tools and they either never get them or they sell them to their friends or something because they say they're gone before they even list them for sale anywhere.

Good luck. If you want "cheap", you might need to settle for the chinese made ones (craft sha or seiwa). They work well and they're not terribly expensive.

If there were cheap European pricking irons available somewhere, the rest of us would've already bought them all up. :) They are in pretty high demand.

Goodsjapan.com has pricking irons for about $45.00 USD. Doubt you'll find cheaper. They also have a number of stitching chisels, the Seiwa getting good reviews. Tandy is another source.

Cheaper prices than Goodsjapan and their shipping is cheaper than goodsjapan also.

No affiliation other than as a happy customer.

Craft sha and siewa are japanese made not chinese made.

A cheap european made iron would be dixon. A 7 SPI, 8 prong iron cost me around 50-60 dollars at abbeyengland. They require a business id but they still sent it out without me having one.

Bob douglas versa groover to me looks like it is worth the money - sheridanleather.com made in USA. The design is different than the competition, having the cutting edge in the middle and the guides at the side. You can use if left hand, right hand and free hand where other groovers wont be able to do that. You would need 2 groovers, one for use with the edge guide and another for free handing, versa groover is all in one. For a cheap one a japanese made groover would be a good investment.

check out Bob Douglas at Sheridan Outfittiers for his adjustable gouge. I heard they are one of the best on the market. Everyone I know that owns one says great things about them.
