  1. I just thought someone who has that issue could tell me how the dyeing was done. But I think you're right. I'll call them and get my copy that way. Thank you.
  2. Hallo Guys! I have a problem. I've got the leather crafters & saddlers journal Vol. 18. There is the part two of "making a dutch oven case". I don't have the vol. 17 (march/april) so I miss the part one in which I believe the dyeing and finishing techniques were described. Can someone help? If someone has that issue please help me and contact me or send me a message. It would be great. Thank you very much!
  3. Thank you Regis! It's a great link. But I need a solution for overall dyeing with a spirit based Dye. Is there something that can resist from a spirit based dye? What kind of resist can protect from a spirit based dye (Neat-Lac, Super-Shene or whatever)?
  4. Hello friends! I just wondered how it's made that the carved patterns and the rest of the leather have different colors. I mean something like this beautiful samples: sample 1 sample 2 Is there a resist/blockout used? Is that possible to color the patterns then use somekind of a resist to protect it from the dye and then dye the whole project? I just have no clue how it's made. I know some of you make such things and they look great. Maybe there is somekind of tutorial on that special subject? I really need help with this. Big thanks!
  5. Hallo! This is my first posting so I hope i don't do anything wrong. I'm new to tooling and carving and I've seen some works I liked but I just don't know how they did it. I mean something like this: How can I do this? Do I have to tool the leather and then dye or color the stampings? I mean stamping the brown leather first and mix dye or paint in a lighter brown and then color the stamped impressions? I know many of you guys here are very fine and experienced workers so please help me. It would be so great if someone could help me with that problem.
