I was looking at getting some Weaver Leather products (like Weaver Tuff Coat, dyes, etc.) When I went to look for their prices to compare I saw they require a tax ID #.

I guess they won't sell to individuals?

If not, I guess I'll look for someone that carries Fiebing Bag Kote instead.

Just a question but did you try tan kote or tuff kote. From what I understand these are all usually the same thing just tan kote is thinned a bit and bag kote is thinned a bit more.

Just based on color alone, the only difference can't be thinning, otherwise bag kote would be nearly clear when it is a light brown Though it is true that Tan Kote has a thicker consistency than does Bag Kote. In my experience, Tuff Kote seems to be a heavier duty version of Bag Kote.

I like the TK. I'll try to post pics later. You've got to test on scraps first. Things are working out to where I prefer Bag kote for bridle leather and TK for regular veg tan and latigo. Will soon try TK on chrome tan.

Is Tuff Kote and Tan Kote a clear finish that can be used w/different color dyes? I thought I had read that Tan Kote was tinted.

It has a neutral color. I use it on top of dyes and antiques all the time.
