blueknight Report post Posted July 30, 2014 Hello Leatherworker world. My name is Matt and Im located in hot, humid central FL. I recently wondered into a leather project in lieu of building the perfect seat (in my eyes) for my bobber project. I started this bobber project wanting to built as many parts as I can to display my metal working skills and take on new trades such as leather tooling. I have completed my seat cover and almost finished up a fuel bottle holder that im having some mounting onto the frame and could use some guidance. what I started with its current state this is the seat that i cut out, hand tooled and dyed, its rough but is fits the bike I ended up ditching the fuel sling in the last pic as it didn't fit in with the seat and tooled a new sling that Im much happier with sketched out a quick simple compass to add a little detail to the bottom of the sling. here is where I have ran into my dilemma. I was going to put a couple of slits on the back and loop a leather strap around the frame and back into a set of double split rings but im afraid that over time and the weight of the bottle full of gas that leather will tear.
