  1. Hi, What is the braider's journal? I do not see a web page by that name. Is this a periodical? Thanks!
  2. I have one too. Really nice tool.
  3. These are the Old-Skool type blades that come in the white aluminum dispensers? double bladed with that funny punched-out shape in the middle to go around a piece of metal in a razor before two sides screw down to hold it on?
  4. I like that. Nice looking piece of work there.
  5. Thank you for the comments, all!
  6. Thank you, Joe. I made some "braiding soap" from a recipie I got off the internet. Water, Dove soap and lard. I did put it on for this one. When I braid round I pull on the thong before I put it into the braid, then lay it in without any tension. that seems to make the braid lay straight. I have not done many flat braids. Last night when I was working on this one, I braided the thong through, then pulled it tight. It just felt right to do that. Was that the right thing to do? I was trying to pull the matrix tight. Thanks!
  7. Well, not exactly my first. I am new to braiding, and new to leatherwork as well, but since taking my first class here in Sacramento I have done a few leashes, et al. But I am wearing this bracelet around and am very happy with it. I did not bevel or cut down the thongs to a common width; I have not bought or invented a gizmo to do that yet. This is made with some Y-Knot 2.5mm kangaroo lace. I got the latch at Hobby Lobby or a place like that. The leather smells wonderful! I am sitting here at my desk sniffing my wrist. I am perfectly happy hearing any comments or advice you guys feel like making. I have a long, long way to go here, and would appreciate any comments.
  8. Hi all! I was wondering if anyone knew of a site to visit that had details on leather shows around the country. I just found out about the Pendleton Leather Show coming up in November. Unfortuantely I will not be able to attend, but I was thinking that if I had heard of the show earlier, I might have been able to attend. Is there a web site or anything where someone publishes all upcoming shows? They do that for my other two hobbies, music and sci-fi, but I cannot find a leather show guide. Thanks!
  9. Looks nice! Have you got a picture of the clasp/ I am curious how it attaches.
  10. Looks nice, and I too want to see what you have in mind for a finished project. Pardon the noob question, but is a "1 to 7 pattern" some sort of ridge or edge braid? I have Grant's Encyclopedia, and want to try to figure the mechanics of what you are doing. Thanks!

Yet another regret from high school discovered: Not listening in Spanish class.
  12. Moc se mi líbí, že pouzdro na kytaru taky. Velmi pěkná práce! I really like that guitar case too. Very nice work!
