Shooter McGavin Report post Posted July 10, 2012 I have a piece of elephant hide up for sale. This is from Roje leather and came off of a large piece I used for belts. To be perfectly honest, it doesnt burnish very well, it might be partially chrome tanned. Would still work nice for inlays or money clips, small stuff, I dunno. Asking 15 dollars shipped. Art Report post Posted June 24, 2013 An insole is going to be 10-12 irons, around 1/4 inch or a little less. The elephant I have is not even 1/2 that and chrome tanned. It would however make nice uppers, but you would need bigger pieces. It is tough as hell, you can't even scratch it with a fingernail.
