sheath idea-new idea?

here a fixed knife that I am getting for self protection. Have ay of you ever tried earth magnets inside the sheath to hold it better? I am wanting to make a sheath for it so that I can wear it horizontally on my belt with a clip.

ps- if it works feel free to steal the idea I could be a new line of sheaths!

Rare earth magnets work well to hold your knife in the sheath. I have made a few sheaths with magnetic retention for customers and I am by no means the first guy to do it.

It's always fun to try out new methods and techniques let us know how it turns out.

Pete, alot of makers use rare earth magnets.I have used some but usually prefer not to use them for retention.I also have used them in place of snaps on flap sheaths for holding the flap down.Dave
