Built for stitching all types of light to heavy tack such as; saddle skirting, bridles, breast collars, harness, belting, holsters, nylon slings, webbing, bioplastics, cases, and any other leather or similar products. The 4000R stitches up to a full ¾ inch thickness. The reverse lever allows backtacking to securely lock in your beginning and/or ending stitches of your projects. The Artisan® TORO-4000R comes mounted on an adjustable heavy pedelstal including lockable caster wheels as shown for sewing in a standing up or a sitting down position. The Artisan® system allows stitchers the ability to sew just one stitch at a time, stitch by stitch, or to sew at a safe and controllable sewing speed of up to about 150 s.p.m. Higher stitching speeds of about 300 s.p.m. are possible by moving an electronic switch on the motor from the low to high speed position. Stitching speeds up to 500 s.p.m. may be adjusted by using the second larger pulley on the Artisan® SR-2 speed controller. The TORO-4000R with a 16½" long cylinder bed is known as a compound needle feed walking foot lockstitcher with a large barrel shuttle and will sew thread sizes from #138 up to the heaviest cord size #415. For the best stitching performance, we recommend using only quality SCHMETZ® brand #794 leather point needles and quality "Premium Performance" leather stitching threads from Artisan®. Many optional fittings are available for the TORO-4000R. Phone Artisan® toll free and give us the chance to prove how we can help with your requirements.

My 4000R LA-25 came on a pallet with attached boxes. I picked it up at the freight terminal and had it loaded onto my Dodge RAM. It is a big machine. Have at least two people to unload it and to unpack the machine head. The 16" model will be a little smaller but not all that much smaller. You can uncrate it on your pickup truck and bring it into the shop or house a piece or box at a time.

There was a little bit of assembly required but not much. They assemble the critical components. And they will help you if you have any questions or problems. They are quite good at that.

I got a price of $220 to the freight terminal in Buffalo. I picked it up in my Dodge RAM with a bunch of biker men who did most of the lifting. LOL!
