For Adler class 250-370 there are binders available which may fit to your machine. Check one example here.

I think that also the thread tension with larger hooks is more constant with a large hook, so the seam quality is better. Dürkopp has posted some information with pictures about that.

Instead of buying the manual: I found it for free here!

I am following the corporate blog of Dürkopp Adler for parts and just noticed they have published the manual for Adler class 104 and 105 in 5 languages. The parts book is also available.
-
A manual is really hard to find, but I found at least a possibility for a free download of the parts book for 104-64.

James, I have found the 105-64 parts book for free download. As far as I know, Dürkopp Adler still has a lot of spare parts for these old Adler models. You should contact your dealer with the article numbers and have a check. When I ask here in Europe, I can still get a lot of parts.

Do you need the parts book for details?
-
Check if at least the parts book can help you a little bit.

Jim, I could help someone else in this forum with the link that I found to a corporate blog of Dürkopp Adler where they have started to post vintage technical documentation and other interesting information. Actually, there are parts books for Adler class 30, Adler class 104 and Adler class 105 available for free download, and it seems they will post more. I hope this will help you a little bit.

Not a service manual, but the parts list I found here. I hope it helps you at least a little bit.

I was also searching for old parts books for Adler machines and just noticed that Dürkopp Adler has started to publish them for free in a corporate blog. I have found there parts books for Adler class 30, class 104 and class 105 with all subclasses already and it seems they are going to publish more.
