New to site, photos of my seats

Recommended Posts

I am new to this site and can see it is going to be eating up some of my free time looking around at everything! I have been doing leatherwork for almost 2 years now and have done almost a dozen cycle seats. Here are some photos of my work.

Nice work and stitching. Unique idea on the the use of stingray on the eyes in the skull.

Any issues with sliding across the skill and catching as you slide across? I saw what appeared to be some stitching hidden in some of the skull features.

Regards,

Ben

Sweeet! You do a lot of two-up seats, do you use the original cover as a pattern or make new ones? Got a guy wanting me to do a Softtail seat, and I'm kind of intimidated by the paatern making part. Do you use the original foam, or go with closed cell neoprene? Great looking seats.

Sorry I have been away for a few weeks.

Grumpy, I made a new pattern mainly because the stock one has a few extra panels in it to help bend the contours. The two up seats are quite a bear to wrap to the pan, but a few relief cuts and contact cement and you can get through it. I wanted to say you do some great work too. I am also a member on club chopper and have seen your work there.

Ben, the stingray is stitched in some of the creases of the skull tooling. I was not comfortable with contact cement holding the stingray in place so the stiches are more for my piece of mind. The seat has been on for about 5 months now and he has not had any complaints about catching in the inlay areas.
