Tippmann Boss Sewing Problem.

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a new boss from a private owner. The boss was brand new in box, never taken out. All its parts were still in orginial packaging. Anyhow I set it all up and it stitches nice only as I bring the handle back up it is very rough and I can see why. When the needle thread is brought around it gets caught on the side of the bobbin case, and seems to get stuck just below the top corner of it. Causing me to force it back up. Is this normal? If not how can I fix this problem. Heres a photo of where it gets caught.

No, it is NOT normal. I just had a look at mine, and if there's ANY tension on the thread (you are holding the threads for a few stitches when you get started, right?), the thread should glide right off the bobbin. Look for a small burr in the area it's hanging up. It you find one, you should be able to either file it out ( then re-polish) or contact tippmann for a replacement.

Go onto the Tippmann website, . . . leave an email there with the picture, . . . tell them you need Ben to look at it.

The guy is a wizard with these machines. I've personally taken mine to him twice, . . . in and out in an hour both times, . . . once at $0.00, . . .

May God bless,

Dwight

Thanks for that info. I did get the issue fixed. But I got an artisan instead. Wifey said I could. So now I will try to sell the Tippmann.
