Hello,

I made my wife this bag for Mother's Day so she could carry around her new iPad I bought her for Mother's Day (she is an awesome Mom). I used Nigel Armitage's pattern to make this bag. Nigel's pattern is great and if you are interested in trying a bag this is a great way to get started.

I used 5 oz Horween Chromexcel throughout. I stitched it with black linen thread at 9sti (my hands still hurt). There is a back pocket and inside pocket and one compartment inside. The buckle really looks crooked in these pictures but its not that bad. Its how the bag is laying (I'm too lazy to redo them).

Overall I think it turned out pretty good. Cutting out the pattern was hard because I'm not used to cutting pieces on such a big scale (at least compared to wallets).

I messed up the back piece and flap. I converted mm to inches wrong and ended up with a short flap but decided to roll with it instead of wasting leather.

Let me know what you guys think!

Joe

Looks decent overall Joe, I think she will be very happy with it!

The square footage and brand stamps in the inside are a nice touch, wouldn't worry too much about the fastener at the front, you can always remount the hardware on leather washers and stitch them back on perfectly straight if it bothered you enough.

Overall, pretty nice! Now, if i can find a source of horween in Australia i'll be set for life!
