If you don't get any answers you may want to move this post to "Fabrication - Leather Sewing Machines". Some of us "Old Timers" only monitor the sections we are interested in and not all the "New" post on the whole site. That sort of helps keeps things organized. The section I referenced is where most of the discussion on sewing machines is held.

Try soaking with some mineral spirits then use some kerosene let the soak even spray on a couple times for each let it flush out the rust and gummy oil or grease. If that doesn't free it up start dismantling and wire brush with solvent . Lay parts out so you remember how to put them back , the bent adjuster on top if you heat it up some with a torch it might straitene up to where it will still work take your time place a nut driver or small pipe over it to bend it back . Don't torch after using anything flammable tho. Common sence but I figuare I should say it. You can get the parts breakdown and manual from the singer site free download ! If you get stuck call Bob at Toledo sewing machine or ck his banner on top of page
