  1. The last brown chromexcel I got was dark on the back but this last one is like a lighter grey ish brown I got them both from Springfield as wallet backs maybe its durby or what ever else they have
  2. Can u dye the fresh side with chromexcel ? I got some that's too light on the flesh side and I don't really want to line it
  3. On second thought carnauba creme is for smooth areas I bet it would be bad I know it leaves white powder looking stuff if its not smooth
  4. Should belt edges be beveled or left square ? Great vid makes me want a sewing machine
  5. I just made some small things with elephant and the edges burnish easier then cheap cow leather ill have to look that finish up . Would carnauba creme work or 50/50 mop n glow ?
  6. I did this today then impregnated it with wax so its hard
  7. I'm in no position to judge others work but that was crappy maybe the guy is homeless and works in the dark while on drugs. I saw a guy on Instagram who makes nice things make a knife sheath look rustic and sloppy on purpose and didn't understand why People may want stuff to look that way idk
  8. I see this thread is over a year old but if anyone is still looking What type of snap would one use on a pick case ? The glove snaps ? Line 20? I know the line 20 I got from tandy would work but all the other ones I've seen are two hard to open for small things
  9. Lol a lot of older men use the tall wallets in my part of TN and a lot of people these days who ride motorcycles are rich so it seems like a good thing to make I just think the store brand at springfeild look like they may be better I noticed a few of the interiors didnt have much on room around the edge to sew
  10. What's the quality like ? I had someone really wanting me to make them a "biker " wallet for a boyfriend of hers and have never tried one plus after getting the thinner leather and lining i would spend more doing it my self so I could charge less with one of these and I would want it to be really nice
  11. http://springfieldleather.com/30087/Lining%2CTooling-Pigskin/ I was wrong about the price but there is some predyed for cheaper under lining
  12. This is off topic but has anyone seen iPhone cases that can be used while on the phone ? The only person I've seen making them is in Asia they use the brand name "Nerb" I saw them on Instagram this seems to be a very untapped idea
  13. But I guess you want the pockets noticeabley thinner then your 2-3 oz . I know I saw something on springfield that was under 2oz but I don't think it was smooth
  14. I've been looking at 2oz smooth pig skin it says it can be dyed and its (I think ) 1.99 sq ft may be 2.50 I remember it was cheaper then bovine
