Holster Reconditioning

Recommended Posts

Hi New here

I bought a holster at a flea market the other day. It had mold or mildew inside.

I gave it a good scrubbing with saddle soap and treated the mildew with alcohol like I read about on line.

The mildew seems to be gone and the holster smells like leather again.

Here is my question.

Now what.

I assume it needs treated with something to protect it.

I read that you should do nothing with the inside of the holster but I'm concerned with mildew starting up again.

And I'm wondering what to treat the outside with.

I want the holster to be functional.

Thanks for the help

you could use some fiebing saddle oil to put some oils back into the leather let it dry and then use fiebings leatherbalm with atom wax on the outside to waterproof and seal the outside

if after cleaning the holster, will you be useing it or put it in a drawer in the house?

Fresh air and sunshine will keep the mildew away..............
