I mostly make quivers and armguards for archery. I have just started using a wood burning tool on the leather as well. My latest interest is making leather masks. Hope you like them

I'm new too in fact this is my first post your work is really nice and I would love to see your masks as I am interested in seeing different types of leatherwork. I'm an Aussie as well and I was just wondering where do you buy your leather as I am having trouble locating a good supplier in Perth.

hi, i am in Geelong, Victoria. I am lucky that i have a tannery close and they are my main suppliers. Try to track down a tannery, most will sell to the public. I use Birdsall leathercraft supply (they have a web site) for rivets and dyes etc, they mail out really quickly, and i use Greenhalgh tannery in Ballarat for kangaroo lacing and they mail to me as well. I just finished my first mask last night and will post a picture today.

Thanks leatheroo I found Birdsalls website and sent them an email about prices I wasn't sure about a tannery if they would sell to the public but we have enough beef here so there must be one about so I'll give that a go. There may be another avenue though if they don't as my father in law has been a butcher for many years dealing with wholesalers and such so it's possible he may know of one. He's away at the moment but I will definately be asking him when he gets back.

You can also buy from Leffler in Melbourne, they have a lot of leather and equipment and they sell by mail order. Their site isnt as organised as Birdsall, though.
