Macca Report post Posted August 19, 2013 Hi all Ive been busy on ebay lately, one of the items I picked up is a post war, German plough gauge The supplied knife is not the correct one, as the rest of the tool is very nicely put together I'm attempting to track down the correct one. only makers mark on the brass are the letters S & L stamped over each other. To find ( in German Langwhich ) - "Niet- & Ösenwerkzeuge". Safety deposit box available that are still. The knife is from Toolmaker with the ...."L in the oval". I'm not quite sure, but the Nae man was ....."Langenhahn" .....and came from Suhl in Thuringia, ex DDR - East Germany. A toolmaker who worked since ca. 1910, and made very fine quality. I have the same tool with the original knife; which is`nt anything special by the way. Thin steel and light wood. Nevertheless, it cuts alright.
