TexasJack Report post Posted August 8, 2013 The tree is unremarkable - it kinda looks like any deciduous tree. The leaf pattern is fairly attractive. Check these links: Information and Education, and Aesculus glabra Interesting thing I didn't know before reading that wiki article is that the Native Americans used to blanch the seeds to get tannin for tanning leather. Got to make sure it doesn't look like a pot leaf I think, but I'm feeling like I could figure it out. It's for a buddy from Ohio and me being from Texas I'm always pointing out how inferior Ohio is... So I figured I could make it up to him with an Ohio belt.
