Questions About Listings

What's the difference between all the listing types?

There are two groups of listings, those for Leatherworkers, and those for Suppliers.

In each group of listings, you can choose from a Basic, Featured, or Banner listing.

The Basic listing is a basic text listing (although you can upload one graphic as your "Logo" but you can also use that spot to display a photo of something you are offering for sale).  The basic listings are ordered in the Directory by most recent listings to the oldest.

The Featured listing is similar to the Basic listing, with the main difference being that it gets rotated in the Featured Listings box at the top of each Directory page.  This puts these listings in a very prominent page location in the categories you choose for the listing, so they get noticed more easily.

The Banner listing is a way for leatherworkers and suppliers to insert banner ads in the Directory.  Each Banner listing allows up to 6 side banners and 3 top banners.  The banners are rotated in the designated locations in categories you choose for the listing.

If I want a banner listing, how do I create the banner?

The banners need to be one of two different sizes, measured in picture elements, or pixels.  The graphic banners that appear in the side columns are 200x90 pixels, and the graphic banners that are shown at the top of the center column are 430x60 pixels.  They can be JPG, GIF, or PNG file types.

Can you make the banners if I don't want to?

Yes, for a small fee.  Contact us for details.

Do the Feature and Banner listings really get more hits?

We've only been up and running with the directory since late January, so it's still a little early to get any real statistics, but so far it's looking like the banner listings are getting about 3 times the traffic as the basic listings.  The Feature listings are getting a significantly higher number of hits on the average.

We will post some real numbers in another month or two.

Issues & Problems

I created my account, but I can't log in.

You cannot log into your account until you have activated it.  Check your email for an activation email that we sent, which has instructions on activating your account.   It is possible that your spam filter could have stopped this email from being delivered - it has happened on some occasions.  If you did not receive your activation email, just contact us, and we'll fix you right up!
