    The Alamo

Thank you, the one with Billy Bob Thorton was real good too. Would love to see it in person. Wishing you peace beyond all understanding
  3. Thanks, It is about 50 miles from me and priced at $1,500 not much info in the ad just says ("Very few hours, comes with extras"),most of my projects ( except a few harness repairs that are closer to an 1" thick) are just under 1/2" thick and I usually do a saddle stitch with the Ritza 25 Tiger Thread, 1.0 mm Ok thanks

  5. HI, I purchased a USM clicker press in fine working condition a few years ago. The seller lowered the swing arm to the table for transport. I wasn't there to see the process. Now I'm in the process of putting the machine into service, and I can't figure out how to raise the swing arm, prior to starting the machine. During storage there is some slight corrosion on the the vertical column. Thanks in advance Ragnar
  6. A light application of NFO the day before dying helps restore moisture to the leather, which helps the leather to take the dye. When the dye is dry, buff it with a clean rag before applying top coat.
  7. @Cwagz396 Start your own topic, post close-up photos of the hook. Also post photos of the entire top thread path from spool to needle eye. We will help you figure it out

    The Alamo

Lookin good . . . saw Fess Parker as Davy Crockett at the Alamo as a kid . . . never made it, but always wanted to visit the place. Thanks for the picture . . . keep up the good work May God bless, Dwight
  9. It makes no difference that I have noticed, other than you might get a little more pigment coming up as you rub in the NFO. - Bill
  10. Hey, Did you know about that?
  11. Hi there? I live in Korea(South) No.19 'Landis 5 in 1' is available?
  12. Very nicely done. It would also be good for hammering down the thread in seams. kgg
  13. small one in my case is 17.4mm in diameter and 8mm fence. so I really think you have a small hook machine.
  14. I have kept some old shuttle drivers from a parts lot I bought some years so. The one on the left is close what you measured but I have to find my caliper... but I´m almost certain that yours is the machine with the smallest hook. Later more...
  15. Was thinking you might check the Needle scarf size ? , Shorter length Scarf limits Hook travel, and some needle manufactures have longer length Scarf . Longer Scarf, the Hook will be able to move past the top and bottom of Scarf in little wider path on each needle stroke . Wider Scarf also lets you get more ZZ width without tapping top and bottom of the Scarf with the Hook, and help stop Hook wear. - -

    The Alamo

Wanted to try a building, The Alamo seemed like a good project. It was more difficult than anticipated, larger size would make it easier. The size was 7.5 x 10, seemed big enough when printing the piece, plus it is hard to find a lot bigger piece on a belly. With the price of bellies it gives me more freedom to try and not be afraid of the cost of failure, just have to read the leather for proper moisture content.
  17. I posted a 4-month review here: https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/131750-review-of-jianglong-341-after-4-months/#findComment-784187

  19. I made this primarily to use with my lathe but it may be useful for working on sewing machines etc. Copper face one end, nylon the other, copper was melted from motor windings. I found that copper is a pain to turn in the lathe as it galls and creates a rough finish!
  20. Halloween; I prepared a large orange bucket with plenty of sweets (treats). I also included a few baby potatoes, as a sort-of 'booby' prize The childer came to my door. I got the bucket and told them to dive in and take lots. One we lassie got a spud. She laughed as she exclaimed 'I got a potato'. Then all the others cried they wanted one too. I tried to tell them it was a trick but they weren't listening They all crowded round the bucket and would you believe it the buggers err, the wee darlings all got a spud each! and were really happy There goes my Sunday dinner spuds
  21. Hello Constabulary I have finally managed to get the measurements you asked for. Fence is 7 mm high and the diameter of the shuttle driver is 18.5 mm. Thanks
  22. its called a ring clamp because the metal ring around it holds it together and makes it work, not because you use it to hold rings necessarily.
  23. @AndreaIbis You should be posting using English. It is the language for this site. You have included English before so I guess it slipped your mind with these posts.
  24. Beautiful work
  25. So its been a long time since I have been on here (2018) I recently was sidelined with surgery and had more time on my hands. They wanted me using my hands, so I did leather work for some occupational Therapy. Feed back is welcome. I tend to make them for gifts. I never seem to feel like my work is professional enough to sell, but I have been asked lately by some professional crafters/artisans in the area to join them at a show. I am better a making than pictures
  26. Ich habe auch noch dieses rot eingekreiste Teil übrig, von dem ich nicht weiß, wofür es ist und wo ich es hinstellen soll. Edited to add English Translation I also have this part circled in red left over, which I don't know what it's for or where to put.
Edited to post Google Translation: After almost a year, I finally managed to assemble everything and do the first tests. It wasn't easy at all; after all, I'm no sewing machine mechanic, but it works. Only the maximum zigzag stitch length of 9–10 mm isn't as expected (instead of 12 mm). Perhaps something needs adjusting, but I can't figure it out at the moment. There was a minor compatibility issue with the gears and the helical gears, as they didn't fit properly into the existing gear. I used some emery paste to rotate the machine a little, and then it worked.
