I started out with a leather kit from Amazon. It was like $140 & had all the basic tools to get started. Plus it had 4 colors of thread, beeswax plus some other stuff. I made a lot of stuff with that kit.

Quite nice, I think. I appreciate the fact of the natural creases in the non-carved face. I like my items to look like the genuine full grain leather they they are, just like the animal wore it. Well, dye, finishes, etc. are fine.

Hello, I am in Washington state and I would like to commission someone to do a few things 1_convert a fanny pack i have into leather using an industrial sewing machine similar to mine 2_create a pattern of that fanny pack 3_digitize that pattern 4_make a video or a series of videos of themselves making the fanny pack, documenting each step and process 5_teach me, whether that's me going to your house, or you to mine, how to make this fanny pack, myself on my machine, start to finish, is there anyone in Washington state that could do this for commission? thank you

I made this wallet for my son. Not the cleanest tooling I've done but he was happy. Made the interior from black mission grain pig. And the back is finished with resolene.

LOL, bought a nice headknife and didn't use it for over a year as it scared me. Now it's better than sliced bread. Thank you for the compliment.

Your work is awesome! And it's nice to see how different it is from most of what we see on here, which is Sheridan type patterns and decoration! Also, nice to see something that isn't a belt, holster or knife sheathe!

hello recently I re-timed my Juki LU- 563 hook, after which the bobbin area began to make a grinding sound. Does anyone know what it might be? Here is a video of the sound: IMG_1297.MOV any help/advice would be appreciated.

Hi all - I am not a seasoned in this craft, but I had the idea to make a large 8-plait round rope to make garland for my Christmas tree. Instead of trying to make one long 100-ft complicated rope, I thought I could make sections and find a way to seamlessly tie the pieces together, or transition in a way that looks nice and natural. However, in all my research I can not find a way to do this. Does anyone have any knowledge to share or ideas? Thank you so much!!

Hi. The belt is painted with Fibings paint, and the pattern is painted with diluted paint.

Ah, well that explains why the groove looks too small, it's not even there. It's always very difficult for me to tell whether or not there's a groove when people use those stitching chisel things that seem so popular these days, they appear to create a sort of phantom stitch groove. In any case, I wouldn't worry about the thread diameter, I think it looks great.

@noidea do you still have this machine? Im looking to purchase one second hand and would like your thoughts on how you got on with it on heavy fabrics

Thank you, yes Sir working on my weak area. Pictoral and Figure are my favorite and floral was lagging. Finished the left half of the wallet and started getting sick, it is sitting till I am better. A head knife came, cost 25.00 missed mine and didn't want another nice one. Surprisingly it was extremely sharp. Can I find shortcommings, sure but for the price it works well above it. Made a sheath for it don't want any red fluid leaking.

I always keep a couple of double-needle needle-feed around. The Mitsu. dn-275, It will stitch thin leathers very nicely, it uses common found, inexpensive needle-gauge sets for changing it's set-up for what you might need, and if ? it has a split-needle bar that even better. It Not a industrial machine you want as your primary leather stitcher, like a good compound feed single-needle. So I assuming you have other machines already ? ,
