I know most people make their own templates. I have made a few of my own and haven't always had success. It's not that I'm not capable. It's because I only have so much time at the bench. I work a full time physical job, am in my 40s, and have a four year old. I can't blow time on templates that fail (I already have a card wallet that won't fit cards). Plus, nice templates provide easy repeatability down the line. So, Friday night I ordered 7 new templates from Black River Lasers. They arrived this afternoon. They have extra stock discounted on their eBay page right now. They were even cool enough to send me a bonus gift (thanks for that). So, if…

Anybody remember this one? Floral carved panels, name banner, carved inside pockets. Seems like it was one of the OLD books, maybe. Wife is re-making this for someone. Tell me where to find it, and get a free holster pattern download

I'm wondering where I can find patterns for things like motorcycle bags, roll/tool bags, etc. I'm not looking tooling patterns, but instead am looking for patterns for the shape/size and assembly of the pieces. I did find one web site called BigHouseDaddy. Has anyone bought any of his ebooks? He doesn't have anything for roll/tool bags, but he does have a saddle bag pattern set. I'm still very new at this, so any help or advise would be appreciated. Thanks, Dan

Hi guys, I am having a really hard time building holster in that I can't draw so my patterns come out crappy. Are there any tricks or tools that I can use. Mostly I have problems making the lines curry and flow correctly. Also when I make a belt slide/OWB sides that you run the belt through are never even they are alwasy off. Any help would be greattly apperciated.

I have been looking for spur strap templates and am having a hard time finding any. I'm looking for both one-piece and two-piece. The ones from that you can print out from Tandy are too small and the shapes are somewhat plain. Any suggestions or resources? Thank you.

This seems like it would be an easy thing to do, but it is giving me more trouble that anything else. What tool are you guys using to cut out your leather after your pattern is complete, I have not been able to get a good, clean cut that is parallel. I am using a razor knife with good sharp blades on a rubber backing board and cannot seem to to get an even up and down cut, mine are angled one way or another and when the leather is glued together the edges are not even and when I try to even them up, I usually just make it worse. This is even worse in the curved areas. What side are you cutting from? Using 7-8 oz leather, should I be cutting in one pass? Thanks for any hel…
