Considering that this is my first women's bag, it would be somewhat presumptuous to give advice on my part. I can only share my little experience.
If you plan to create your own template, start by modeling with paper. This will help assemble the prototype bag and see what is wrong. I made 9 "paper" variants of this bag, until I finally managed to get the shape that suited me.
And then - the main thing to start. There will be nowhere to retreat - the leather has already been cut and throwing it into the trash is a pity
