  3. Leather lace splitting and stranding and beveling tool, this tool is great for leather braiders it has an adjustable strand making side and an adjustable splitting and beveling side to get the perfect thickness for your braiding projects. It is made of aluminum for the most part, the body is three inch and the sliding bar is one inch brass. It will come with two mounting holes (1/4"x 20) in bottom ready to be bolted to your work bench. The tool uses standard utility knife blades for the splitting and beveling side and razor or scalpel blades for the string side. A pack of utility knife blades will be included with the tool. This tool is made for making lace from kangaroo, thin cow, goat, deer, and other thin hides, it will also work on thin rawhide very well. This particular tool has 45 degree, and 30 degree slots for beveling. The lace in the pic is 1/8" beveled 45 degrees on flesh side. The small blades for the string cutter side and the lace are not included. The small blades can be picked up at most craft stores. The tool will come with the locking pin and the allen wrench.

  6. Hello,

My name is Clint Sims i live in Glen Rose Tx. I am a whipmaker and a braider. I make the tools that are sold on e-bay that you are discussing it appears that some of you have already bought one of the original style, but i think that the one Ms. (horsehairbraider) bought is better for making finer work, i think the string side is better since you can resize easier with it. I have been working on this tool for several years and trying to improve it. I am going to ((((((try)))))) to post the instruction pics in this forum. Please feel free to offer any opinions or suggestions as i am trying to make the best tool I can for a fair price that everyone can afford.

    thanks Clint
