Good morning from Singapore!Thank you for visiting my blog. Brandon aka Opel Mok.I haven't run across very many custom tools from the few bundles that I have purchased in the past, but I do have a couple.
The two on the left are made from some sort of aluminum rod and were apparently made by the father of the guy that I purchased them from at a garage sale. The one on the far right is a stylus that I am pretty sure my Grandfather made at some point because he either didn't have one at the time or felt that he could do better.
I also ran across a blog by a gentleman located in Singapore that has put together quite a collection of custom, homemade tools for himself. He has some very cool looking mauls, a forming die for making bottle caps into decorations, and even a spork that has been turned into a thonging chisel. I only mention this guy's blog, because it really exemplifies that you are only limited by imagination and some basic stuff to work with. Truly the heart of DIY right there.

Awhile back, on another site, I posted a request for a tobacco pouch pattern. A very talented fellow leathercrafter, Opel Mok, answered my request and posted a tobacco pouch pattern which I used. I changed the design on mine but followed his pattern directions and it came out very nice. I have attached what he sent me. It may be what you are looking for. He has a website that you might be interested in checking out too - http://asailorsleather.blogspot.com - it has a place where you can leave a message of thanks if you decide to use his pattern.

I tried that yesterday with the initials "WKT" and the WK came out good but the T is right out to lunch. I've got the vertical spacing in hand, its more the horizontal spacing that is giving me the problem.Just a shot in the dark. Check on the edges of the stamps say the right of "K" and the left of "T", you may have to file those "extras" out should there be any.

Be it good looking or not when someone asked I'll share it and I'll not hesitate to ask too but from my pass expriences not many will say "THANK YOU" after they received it!It just give you that feeling that you owed them!If you want me to name them, I could but that's not courteous eh?We sure do see some great looking designs and patterns on our site. Question: is it bad form do you think to ask someone if they'd be willing to share? What do you think?Be it good looking or not when someone asked I'll share it and I'll not hesitate to ask too but from my past expriences not many will say "THANK YOU" after they received it!It just give you that feeling that you owed them!If you want me to name them, I could but that's not courteous eh? -
Robb Barr's family is working on a website in memory of one of leather's masters. It's not finsihed yet, not too many pictures up, but it's a start. They told me once they would love to be able to share stories about Robb from people that knew him, or took classes from him. If you have a story to share, please contact them. They are also interested in pictures of his work that they might not have copies of. I think this is a great way to remember someone who helped take leather carving to a whole new dimension. Check out the site (in progress) at robb-barr.comI was just talking to someone and this is what I know;
"I contacted the family several times offering my photos taken in Robb's last workshop and they never answered me."

Grind a round punch to half moon?

I punched the outer piece at the top and bottom fold say, about an inch before lining them up.

Btw, you may find some old basic stamps at Birdstall.

At the zoo, there was a cage full of parrots, when no one was around I did teach them a few words.
If you happen to be there, you're in for a surprise! LOL!

I 've seen Made in USA buckles in CHINA!
The Sailor
Thanks, everyone, for the responses so far. Here's a site that was brought to my attention, and perhaps others here might find it useful: Buckleguy. It's apparently operated by the International Advisory Service company as a means for people to buy smaller quantities of some of their products (exactly what I was hoping for ). However, I've been informed that the buckles are unfortunately made in Asia.

Acha! I made one some years back. I first soak the leather "washers" in white glue + water (50/50).
As you tighten the nut, you can add in more till the length of the handle is filled.
Leave it for a day or so to dry.
Don't know how to attach a pic here!
