  1. I've got a custom order for a 3-ring binder that I need help with.  I usually secure the binding mechanism to the cover using silver screw back conchos. The client does not want anything "flashy" and wants something flat, no decoration at all, and black like the cover leather.  Any thoughts?

      Can you secure the rings to the inner liner, or the inner liner and an internal stiffener in the spine, and then cover that all with the outer layer of leather?  That way the mounting hardware would be invisible to the user.

      Hey Bob,

      I'd thought about that.  I use a stiffener on the front, back and spine and plan on using 6-7 on the cover and 2-3 on the liner...just concerned about it being stiff enough for such a large ring.  What do you think about maybe using tin as the stiffener on the spine?
