  3. Hey everyone ! Just wanted to make sure you all know about the up coming Hides to Art Leather Workshop. It's March 19-21 in Asheville, NC. You can get details at http://www.hidestoart.com/ I've gone the last two years and loved it!. There aren't too many workshops on the east coast so this is great! I can't afford to go out west to the big workshops. This year they will have Al Gould, Bob Beard and Chan Geer. The only hard part is picking which class to take. They have also sold leather, tools and supplies there in the past. I guess they will again this year. If you want any info on the past shows contact me. Art
  4. No, this is a birthday gift for a friend. He has a .41 cal S&W. Thanks, Art
  5. This horn bag is darker than it looks in these pictures. I made these as a gift for a good friend. It's made to hold his 41 caliber S&W revolver. The color, border and trim match his saddle. This is my first try at one of these. Art
  6. Jim, I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into the tutorial. It is excellent!!! Have you thought about submitting it to LC&SJ? Thank you! Art
  7. Nice work. Is the center portion embossed? Thanks, Art
  8. Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. The detail is unbelievable. Art
  9. Beautiful work Brent!! I REALLY like it. How much does it weigh? Thanks, Art
  10. Thanks Folks. I bought the lining leather a long time ago. It's paper thin and I think it's pig skin. The inside top edge is actually a separate piece about 2" tall. I skived the top edges and glued them over about 1/2". Attached is a close up. Thanks, Art
  11. Thanks, but the auction was just for people at work. I work for AT&T so there will be folks from all over the world seeing it and hopefully someone will bid on it. Art
  12. We're raising money for United Way at work and I made this for our online auction at work. It's a bag (either purse or tote) with matching key fob. This is the first time I lined one and made a zippered pocket. Art
  13. I assume you wet it then twist it. How do you keep each in place until it dries? How do the twists hold up over time? I guess they eventually straighten out. Thanks, Art
  14. Great job! Did you twist all that fringe? Art
  15. It looks great! I can't wait to see what you do with it. Art
  16. It's wonderful to have you join us! How great it would be to have that history and skills passed down in a family. I look forward to seeing pictures of your work. Art
  17. No, I didn't. We'll see how it works out. I started to use a piece of metal instead but thought I'd try the thick leather first. Art
  18. Mmmm I saddle that nice you would think there would be a makers mark somewhere on it. Did you look at the skirts under the jockeys? There may be one under the silver plate on the strap keeper. Art
  19. LOL You won't see me carrying it Ray! Art
